The Teacher gazed down into the student's trusting, washed blue eyes.

"I have something of great importance to impart unto you, my Son," he said gently.

"Yes, Master?"

"I must tell you about a great lie that has been perpetrated and has been paraded before mankind as an eternal truth."

"Yes, Master, what is that?"

"It has been said, and it is written, and it is taught by the Priest that 'God created the heavens and the earth.'"

"That is so, Master... I am aware of this doctrine."

"This, my Son... this 'doctrine' as you call it, is a perversion of the true reality and stands before all as a great lie..."

"A 'great lie', Master?"

The student's voice trembled, and his eyes questioned the Teacher's wise face.

"What then... What then is the true reality, Master?"

"My Son," whispered the Teacher, "you... yes, you... you created the heavens and the heavens and the earth..."

When the Priest reported to God that which the Teacher had said and done, the wrath of God waxed hot... and waxed strong... and it was terrible to behold.

God raised His clenched fists to his Holy head, and hissed through his Sacred clenched teeth, "What the hell's going on now? Who does this... this arse-hole of a teacher think he is?"

He lowered his fists slowly and glowered at the Priest.

"I'm God aren't I? So what I say goes... doesn't it?"

"Yes, Lord," answered the cowering Priest quickly.

"It's simple enough, isn't it?" continued God. "I'm God, therefore man must obey... believe in Me... have faith in Me... Worship Me... So... what I say, not what I do... is truth... Isn't it?"

"Yes, Lord, it is."

"So, what's the problem with this… this teacher?"

"I'm afraid he thinks... and he questions..."

"He thinks? ...He questions? ...Me?" roared God.

"Yes, Lord."

God's all-seeing omniscient eyes bulged, and the veins in his omnipotent neck were swollen and throbbing, and God's omnipresent face glowed with a purple apoplectic iridescence...

"Aaaaaaaaah," He screamed. "So the man has become as one of us, eh? ... Bugger that for a lark... I'll... I'll flood the bloody lot of 'em..."

AND HE DID!

Genesis 3:22-24
22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Genesis 6:5-7
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Genesis 6:17
17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

Genesis 7:21-22
21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
