The term "Deep State" has gained prominence recently, especially among political observers and analysts. It refers to a network of influential individuals within the government and military who act independently of elected officials. This concept implies that a hidden faction operates behind the scenes to manipulate political outcomes in line with their own interests and the interests of lobbying elites.

Recent concerns have emerged surrounding claims that the deep state is actively working to provoke a third world war. Proponents of this theory argue that such a conflict would distract from political developments, particularly those involving President Donald Trump as he prepares to take office. The indictment is that by escalating current international tensions to meltdown and global conflict, the deep state would prevent Trump from reclaiming the presidency.

The political landscape in the United States has been increasingly polarised. Trump's supporters often view him as a figure challenging the establishment, especially elitism and the deep state. At the same time, his opponents see him as a threat to democratic norms (unfettered totalitarian rule by an elected majority). This contrast has led to various theories about the motivations of political players, including the deep state coterie.

Advocates of the deep state theory advance that this network seeks to maintain power and control over the political narrative. By fostering international crises, they argue, the deep state can divert public attention away from domestic issues and the potential return of a controversial and threatening figure like Trump to political prominence. The foremost priority of the deep state is its ongoing survival and the maintenance and expansion of its power and control network.

The theory suggests that a global conflict would distract the public, redirecting attention from urgent domestic issues such as economic challenges, social unrest, political corruption, divisions, and usurpation. This notion implies strategically manipulating public perception to safeguard the deep state's hidden agenda.

The "free" media tries to expose the deep state and its purported activities, thereby enlightening the populace. Consequently, outlets have reported claims of a potential third world war, foreshadowing fear and uncertainty. Such coverage is hoped to amplify the narrative, resulting in the population's broader understanding and acceptance of the reality. Conversely, media outlets that are perceived to be under deep state control outright deny the existence of such a political agenda in one of the world's greatest democracies.

Social media platforms have further energised discussions, enabling the rapid spread of information and misinformation. Unfortunately, this environment allows conspiracy theories to thrive, as users share content that aligns with their views, often without critical or evidential  examination.

The exposure of the alleged deep state's efforts to instigate a third world war to thwart Trump's political aspirations reflects broader societal tensions. While the deep state concept remains controversial and very obscure, it underscores the complexities of modern power politics and the lengths to which individuals and groups may go to influence outcomes for their own ends. As discussions continue, it is crucial to approach such claims critically, considering the multifaceted nature of political motivation and the media's role in shaping public belief and gullibility.
